cOOKIE POLICY
1. What are cookies
A cookie is a file or device downloaded to a user’s terminal equipment for the purpose of storing data that may subsequently be updated and retrieved by the entity responsible for installing it. In other words, it is a file downloaded to your computer when you access certain webpages. Cookies enable a webpage, among other things, to store and retrieve information about a user’s browsing habits or those of the user’s equipment and, depending on the information they contain and how the equipment is used, may be used to recognise the user.
2. Use declared in the source document
(h) BG Abogados & Consultores may use cookies while providing the Portal service. Cookies are automated procedures for collecting information relating to preferences identified during a user’s visit to a particular webpage. This information is recorded in small files that are stored imperceptibly on the relevant user’s computer equipment. Each time the user returns to the website concerned, these files are automatically activated so that the website is configured in accordance with preferences recorded on previous visits. In short, cookies are physical files containing personal information stored on the user’s own device and unequivocally associated with that device. Cookies cannot read cookie files created by other providers.
(i) The User may configure the browser so as to prevent cookie files from being created or to be warned when this occurs. The Portal can be accessed without cookie-related options being enabled, although disabling them may prevent the proper operation of security mechanisms for exclusive services or certain services requiring a higher level of security. As a general rule, the purpose of the Portal’s cookie files is to facilitate the User’s navigation. The domain name of the server that transmits and activates the automated procedures is available to interested persons, and the cookies remain valid for 12 months, after which they are automatically deleted.
Cookies or web bugs shall under no circumstances be used to collect personally identifying data concerning the User. Cookies or web bugs are used exclusively to facilitate the User’s access to the website (user preferences and browsing patterns). Session cookies, where used, are not permanently stored on the User’s computer and disappear when the browser is closed; their use shall be limited to collecting technical information to identify the session in order to facilitate secure and efficient browsing of the website. If you do not wish to allow the use of the elements referred to above, configure your browser to reject cookies and/or delete existing cookies and disable JavaScript in your browser’s security settings.
